It's a strange feeling starting something new. Starting this blog for example, I wanted to do blogging for such a long time but could never find the motivation. Even when I found those tiny moments of energy, what do I write about? Would people read it? If they did, why?
In the last few weeks, I was given the opportunity to do what I have wanted to do for so long, move in to IT system engineering at a small startup. As part of that transition I thought this could be a great time to start a blog. Previously I worked as a glorified L2 Support that somehow got involved in everything from stock management to purchase orders and invoice management using 90s Oracle infrastructure. So this is a refreshing change.
Content. What is the content of this blog going to be? ... I don't know. My initial plan is to document interesting things I learn a long the way in the hopes that it helps someone but we will see. It may just become interesting cat pictures.
For some background, the new job is sole IT managing a fleet of MacBooks, office infrastructure and building a Windows based environment to compliment it. I work alongside a CISO with a passionate hatred of Windows and its inherent insecurities so this is going to be fun.
If you actually read this mess, please comment and let me know if there is something that I could post which would help.
